Wedding dress sizing
An interesting anecdote from Jason Kottke about how an experienced dressmaker sizes wedding dresses.

It totally makes sense, but I really hope it's not true. When I got fitted, the size they had fit me nicely, but the measurements were wonky 'cause of the style of dress. If I wanted to save like, 50 or $100, I would need to drop like, 5 lbs.
